Add Stead to Claude

Stead installs inside the Claude desktop app, from Claude's own Extensions screen. You see what it does before anything happens, and you click Install yourself. There's no setup program to run and no script, so Windows has nothing to warn you about.

1. Open the file you downloaded.

   Claude opens it. If it doesn't, drag it into Claude's Settings, then Extensions.

2. Read what it changes, then click Install.

   It gets its own Chrome profile (separate from yours) and a folder of notes you can read. Nothing else is installed and nothing runs at startup.

3. Tick I agree.

   Also tick "Show the Stead character" if you'd like a little helper on your screen. It's off unless you ask.

Remove it any time from Claude's Settings, then Extensions. Every action it takes is logged, and you can see and delete what it remembers. How it keeps you safe.
